5G RANetwork System Specialist Network architect

About the position
We are currently looking for Radio Access Network (RAN) System Specialists to join our Wireless Networks Systems design team in Kista, Sweden. The team is responsible for RAN level system design solutions, providing input to the product development projects.
The candidate will work with specification of the 5G Wireless Network and SW Architectures, supporting the future network services? needs, the demand for deployment flexibility and efficient management, and the migration from today?s network and SW architectures.
With the introduction of infrastructure virtualization as well as network function virtualization is it very important to have an advanced resource management as well as a well-defined architecture providing the capabilities, flexibility and scalability needed in future deployments.
The primary focus is on design of software mechanisms and architecture supporting an evolution towards totally new services and applications, and flexibility in deployments in new scenarios leveraging new technologies and concepts.
It is an R&D position with focus on 5G and migration from 4G.

Qualifications and experience
The candidate should have minimum 8 years of experience from R&D of RAN level system design as well as working with wireless operators. General Radio Network system management/design competence is required (functionality, systemization, ways-of-working/methodology, etc.).
Specialist level competence in the following areas is meriting:
Systemization and Design of Network logical and functional arch?s for Wireless accesses
3GPP Radio Network architecture,
Performance and functionality evolution
End-to-End system architecture and functionality
RAN system functionality and performance (O&M, Traffic, Transport, etc.)
SW Architecture and modeling of complex real-time systems, preferably Base band systems
Parallel computing and multi-core execution
SW Defined Networks and Cloud Computing
Open Source SW and Eco-systems
A Master degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent background is required.

Skills requirements:
The candidate must be productive, with a high focus on delivering high quality work on short timescales within an intensive & dynamic working environment.
We expect the candidate to be innovative and to actively drive the company in what he/she sees as the strategic direction.
The candidate must be able to work independently and unsupported when required, but also be a team member. The candidate must be robust and able to argue as needed, both to promote/defend what they see as the right solution and also as needed to critique proposals from others as needed, in ad hoc creative work as well as more formal peer reviews
Prior experience from international and multicultural work is preferred. As we are a global company the candidate must be able to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing. Good communication, documentation and presentation skills.
