Custom Design Engineer
ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems is looking for a Custom Design Engineer in our Industrial Door & Docking Solutions business area.

We are now looking for a driven Engineer with solid work experience within one or more engineering disciplines, to work with customer specific solutions for the automatic control of industrial doors and docking solutions. You will be working in a small team and together you will be responsible for the process from quotations, design and implementation of the solutions and shipping of the solutions to our customers. This is a high pressure environment with tight deadlines for delivery of final solution and as such we believe you need to enjoy a dynamic environment and have a no nonsense approach to just getting the job done and are not afraid to take responsibility for solving issues as and when they come up. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys challenging the status quo and a lot of freedom will be given to increase the overall effectivity of the working processes and methods.

Responsibilities and challenges:

• Help establish and set up this new department within the Landskrona site
• Analyse design requests from a variety of stakeholders and give rapid feedback with time and costs estimates.
• You will be expected to take the responsibility from order intake and drive through the solution to customer delivery, in accordance to the expectations which you have agreed with the stakeholders
• You need to be able to travel regularly as and when needed (mainly Sweden but also Europe) and sometimes at short notice
• During the start up period (2-3 months) you will need to be able to have long periods of weekly travel for job training.
• You will be working closely with our supply chain colleagues in Czech Republic and as such international work experience will be seen as an advantage
• Your mind-set needs to be focused on safety and as such you need to ensure solutions are tested/evaluated according to the applicable safety standards
• You must be willing to take the responsibility to ensure deliveries are made in accordance with agreements no matter what the circumstances are.

Qualification:

To be successful in this role you should have a high drive to get the job done and not be afraid to think out of the box for how we can reach the goal. At the same time you need a healthy respect for the safety aspects of our industry. You need to enjoy working in an unpredictable environment where change is to be expected. You need to enjoy solving problems on the fly but you strive for the simple solutions wherever feasible. We expect that you have relevant work experience, preferably from a dynamic and international company and this will weigh heavier than official qualifications.

• A relevant engineering qualification to support your skills and experience
• Experience of producing production and end user documentation as well as test reports or similar in a pedagogic manner.
• Knowledge of working in MRP/ERP systems including e.g. building BOM structures
• At least one of the following skill areas: -Mechatronics -Electronics –SW programming programming of automation/PLC´s.
• Knowledge or interest to learn the relevant industrial door directives for e.g. CE marking to a level where you can be sure that the customisation does not jeopardise the existing approvals
• Ability to communicate in both Swedish and English
• A degree of commercial knowledge can be beneficial in this role.
