Electronics Engineer, Embedded Systems to Traffic Management

What you will be a part of
Security and Defence Solutions, a business area of Saab, offers command and control systems, airborne early warning systems, civil security systems and solutions, training and simulation, as well as telecom carrier.
Business unit Traffic Management (TM) serves air traffic and marine customers around the globe with advanced solutions that enable the safe and efficient movement of people and goods. There are two operating units within TM:  Air Traffic Management (ATM) provides airport surface safety and efficiency systems and tools, tower automation and advanced research, development and evaluation solutions; Maritime Traffic Management (MTM) solutions include Automatic Identification Systems (AIS), port and vessel traffic management information systems (VTMIS), Coastal Surveillance Systems, hydrographic, and precision navigation.



Your role
The Product Development department in Linköping needs to strengthen its competence within the area electronic design and development for embedded systems. We are active within the marine business and deliver advanced system solutions, ranging from ship borne transponders up to complete network and presentations systems. Within this area we are a world leader, and our ambition is to be on the fore front offering our customers high quality products. To succeed we are very fast to adopt to new technologies and include these in our products. A corner stone of the success is that we since many years are working with agile development both for software and hardware. Our current challenges are the development of the next generation of airborne AIS transponders and the next generation of AIS called VDES. We now need to expand the team which consists of very skilled electrical and software engineers with two new members.
As member of the team you will participate during all phases of the product development starting with the design until the finished product. Your main focus will be on the analog and digital part which includes schematics drawing and layout. The job is varied and also includes contacts with sub-suppliers as well as some travelling.

Analog and digital electrical design
Experience in radar and radio technology
Schematics and layout experience

You are a good team player who is also able to work independently. As a person you are curious and engaged, you take own initiatives and have the ability to come with new ideas. It is a requirement that you speak and read Swedish and English fluently.
We believe that you have a Master of Science degree or similar, and more than 3 years’ experience within the area.
