Lead engineer sensor data fusion - Vehicle Autom

We are looking for a lead engineer that shall take the lead in our development of our sensor data fusion platform.

The platform merges, filters and fuses information from environmental sensors(e.g. Radar, lidar and cameras) as well as with IMU data, data from wireless links from surrounding vehicles, infrastructure, digital maps and selected targets, likely paths and tracks etc for use in the application and decision algorithms.

You will join our global and multinational team of research and development engineers focusing on the development of advanced driving assistance, active safety, vehicle dynamics and vehicle automation technologies for our brands Volvo, Renault, Mack and UD trucks.

Your work and role (depending on your background the role might be adjusted):
Responsible and lead of the work on our sensor data fusion platform including development of the related strategy in close collaboration with our colleagues within Vehicle Engineering
SW platform operational performance and deliveries to projects
Partnership strategy ( parts of the work will be outsourced under your lead)
Quality and deliveries to start cost projects
Maintenance
Own work on Integration, operation, performance test and specification of advanced automotive sensors (e.g. radar, lidar or cameras) for active safety and vehicle automation functions
Specification and sourcing of environmental sensors
Software development for sensor data fusion including lead of work that is outsourced to 3rd parties
Lead and carrying out tests in both real and virtual environments
Implementation of sensor-related software components
Implementation of active safety functions in test vehicles, possibly also responsibility for one or several prototype/concept trucks
Project management

Experience and qualifications:
You have a master degree or PhD in Engineering Physics, Signal processing, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science or similar.
You have a strong technical background in one or more of the following areas and have more than 5 years experience in one or several of the below areas, preferably also management experience:
Advanced automotive environmental sensors, e.g. as radar, lidar or vision system
Tracking, filtering design signal processing methods
System and software development in C/C++, Matlab and Simulink,
Rapid prototyping of SW e.g. dSpace, embedded coder and related tools, xPC
Vehicle and environmental sensors and data fusion
General and practical experience of truck technology including Truck Electrical Architecture
Control systems, algorithm, signal processing and filter design
Vehicle dynamics & control
Active safety and automated vehicle systems design
Embedded systems, software development and architecture
You most likely have a genuine interest in the automotive industry and applied technology development.

You enjoy team work and can take advantage of a multi-disciplinary research environment. At the same time you are able to work independently and drive development on your own.

Location:
This position is located in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Occasional travel.
