The position is for one year with possible extension with half a year, starting as soon as possible after the job offer is made.

Background: The research at the Division of Solid State Electronics is focused in two main areas: Electronics for Sustainable Energy and Electronics for Smart Life. Specific research fields include solar cells, flexible electronics, ion-sensors, RF-devices and thin film technologies. This position concerns the development of a new exciting device technology for power- and RF-devices in silicon. The new patented device concept has possibilities to offer significantly better performance than existing silicon power devices, and can be implemented into future production using a unique combination of established CMOS process steps. The project is carried out in close collaboration with other researchers at the division and with participating companies.

Project description: We are now looking for a suitable candidate to strengthen our research on the development of the new device concept and on the characterization of developed devices and components. The postdoctoral fellow will perform tasks including: simulation and modeling using TCAD and circuit simulators, design and layout of test chips to be manufactured at foundry, characterization and evaluation of electrical behavior (including DC, switched and RF), and if necessary development of electrical measurements and setups.

Qualifications required: To qualify for an employment as a post-doctor, the applicants must hold a PhD degree or qualification deemed equivalent to a PhD. A PhD degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or Microwave Engineering, and a very good knowledge about semiconductor device physics are expected. Previous experience in TCAD, electrical device measurements, power-IC design, modern layout tools, and high-frequency characterization and modeling is advantageous. Good oral and written proficiency in English is required.
