Process Engineer Silica Sol

Responsibilities

We have an immediate opening for an individual who can fulfil the following key role as Process Engineer in Silica Salt, Bohus.

Silica Sol Bohus is one of eight plants within AkzoNobel producing colloidal silica. The plant produces roughly 30 different products in three production lines and employs 32 people including staff working in site Bohus waste water treatment plant. The products are used in a wide variety of segments as pulp and paper industry, electronic industry, paint industry, construction industry etc,

The main tasks and responsibilities are:
Actively work with continuous improvement, lead and carry out root cause analysis, track and map the process (OEE) in order to produce the material needed for strategically improving the process regarding productivity, yield, quality and process safety.

Responsible for process equipment, process development, optimization and troubleshooting and make sure that the plant produces at high yield, with established qualities, cost efficiently and according to process safety standards and legislations.

Plan and carry out modifications and investment projects with respect to management of change process to improve performances and ensure all aspects regarding process safety, product quality, legislation and HSE is covered.

Participate in development projects as contributor regarding process technologies and equipment limitations, safety regulations, industrial IT in order to be able to in good time handle and take care of new products handed over from R&D.

Advanced technical knowledge of the plant, both practical and theoretical, and educate process operators and other staff that work in the plant.

To be successful in this position you should have a M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and minimum five years experience from process industry and experience from working as a process engineer. Ability to analyze and evaluate complex process technology issues from a technical as well as an economic point of view. You also have good knowledge about process safety and risk management and good communicational skills, both written and verbal, in english and swedish. As a person you are entrepreneurial and structured, responsible and result oriented.
