SEI is seeking a junior energy systems researcher that will conduct energy modelling and planning in the context of research projects on low carbon transitions. The work is initially focused on research in an interdisciplinary EU research project PATHWAYS, where the first task is to build a model of Sweden's current heat system based on data gathered in ongoing case study work, and quantify a set of two scenarios representing different plausible development trajectories. But more broadly the position is part of SEI's ongoing build-up of broad expertise in the areas of energy transitions research. The successful candidate is also expected to engage in a growing portfolio of energy related projects at SEI with the potential to develop a research career and develop project management skills. Criteria of importance are ability to work in a knowledge-intense and interdisciplinary organization, capability in interacting with industry and partners. The applicant can be entry level but previous modelling experience will be highly valued.
