Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Integration

Vehicle Electronics is a global technology organization within Volvo Group Trucks Technology GTT, established to develop and integrate global electronic solutions for all truck brands within the Volvo group.

The products developed at Vehicle Electronics have complex functionality and is divided into a set of E2E (End-to-End) functions realized by software. The E2E functions are integrated on Electronic Control Units ECUs on top of a standardized software platform with AUTOSAR as basis.

The ECU hardware is typically composed of 32-bit dual core CPU with CAN and LIN interface, digital and analogue I/O. The electronic system has 30-40 ECUs and for the most business critical ECUs do we develop and integrate the software in-house. Model based design tools with code generation in C are used for application software but platform and integration code is normally hand written.

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer with interest in software platforms and integration of embedded SW, to strengthen our capacity of software integration.

Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Integration

Core Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will be to develop and provide a tool chain for logical verification on virtual target (e.g. PC) as well as integration of application software on real target for final verification. Integration of application software includes typically activities as developing integration code, scheduling of tasks, configuration of software platform for the specific ECU hardware and the requested services from application software, definition and implementation of software quality metrics. You will spend quite a lot of your time with automation of these activities. We use Jenkins as platform for the automation. Other responsibilities, depending on your knowledge, are:
-Development and maintenance of the embedded software platforms
-Development of guidelines for the software development teams
-Development of Simulink frameworks prepared for code generation
-Support suppliers and development teams with know-how

Required Qualifications
A Masters degree in computer engineering / electronic engineering or equivalent with several years working experience from embedded software development. Due to our international environment you need to express yourself well in English, orally as well as in writing.

Meriting Qualifications
It is meritorious if you have experience from agile organizations, continuous integration and experience from tools like Jenkins, ClearCase, GIT, ClearQuest, Jira, Simulink. Experience from (script) languages as python and/or Java compatible language. We believe you are one of those who switch to command line when you get into trouble.
