ORGANIZATION

Solarus is a rapidly growing company with its own unique patented technology in the field of hybrid solar systems. The Solarus solar collectors generate both electricity and thermal energy. The company is responsible for its own R&D, product development, production, sales, distribution and after sales service. Two sales channels are used, installers/distributors on the one hand and own projects on the other. Our partners, both EU and non-EU with a current focus on South-Africa and India, are targeting at medium and large energy consumers. The headquarters of the by origin Swedish company are located in Venlo, the Netherlands, since January 2015. Due to a rapid growth of clients we are looking for a technical project leader to enforce our project team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Solarus is a fun and engaging place to work, with many different activities going on. You will join a team which consists of you, our head of R&D, and our resident ?product expert? with years of experience in manufacturing. Your duties include:

*You are responsible for managing the complete mechanical design of the Solarus collectors, including material choice, part design, and manufacturing processes.
*You take lead in developing innovative solutions for bugs and evolving the design towards lower cost and higher quality.
*Working with other members of your team, you correspond with suppliers and ensure that incoming parts meet required specifications.
*You maintain the bill of materials in collaboration with our assembly partners.
*You make and execute important decisions regarding dimensioning, tolerances, materials, etc.
*You will advise other teams in Solarus on making qualitative assessments of suppliers? products.
*On the factory floor, you will identify shortcomings and implement design changes to address them.
*There are many opportunities for work-related travel, both in and outside of Europe.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

*Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Energy Systems, or a related field
*Knowledge of SolidWorks for 3D CAD work and Engineering Drawing is required; please submit some samples of your work
*Demonstrated knowledge of material sciences, material properties, strength of materials, etc. is required.
*Knowledge of both thermal and photovoltaic solar power systems is important.
*Familiarity with the operation of Electricity Grids will be helpful for you.
*Knowledge of certification requirements (TÜV, CE, UL, etc) and grid operation requirements will also be helpful, but can be learned on the job.
*1-3 year's experience preferred; fresh graduates who demonstrate excellence are also welcome to apply.
*Familiarity with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), networking (how to access network drives and shared network resources), and working with projectors is necessary.
*Fluency in English both in writing and speech; Knowledge of Swedish a plus but not required.

JOINING DATE, SALARY, BENEFITS, ETC.
