Senior Research Engineer / Scientist

Role Summary/Purpose:

We have two open positions in one of the applications sections at BioProcess R&D. The mission of the section is to support the department with expertise and technologies regarding downstream processing of antibodies and related molecules.

Essential Responsibilities:

The work is performed in close collaboration with our cell culture experts and our responsibility is to develop downstream processes for target molecules produced either in bacteria (mainly E.Coli) or eukaryotic cell lines (mainly CHO-cells).

The main task is to develop and perform downstream purification of proteins produced in cell culture systems. Development is performed in ml-scale but the processes should be scalable to several hundred liter scale. The work includes planning, performing, analyzing and reporting the studies and customer collaborations may be a part of the work. Reporting includes technical reports and presentations at internal and/or external meetings.

Most work is performed as project work with several team members with different responsibilities but flexibility between different types of tasks is advantageous. Thus, in addition to a strong background in protein purification using chromatographic methods, it is important to have experience from protein analysis e.g. ELISA-methods, electrophoresis and/or LC/MS.

Qualifications/Requirements:

PhD, MSc/BSc within biochemistry/biotechnology or similar
Knowledge and expertise from protein purification both in development scale but also from scaled up processes
English as a working language
Excellent computer skills and ability to work in both general and internal systems
EU work permit
