SYSTEM ENGINEER FOR COASTAL SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS

What you will be a part of
Security and Defence Solutions, a business area of Saab, offers command and control systems, airborne early warning systems, civil security systems and solutions, training and simulation, as well as telecom carrier.
Saab Traffic Management (TM) serves air traffic and marine customers around the globe with advanced solutions that enable the safe and efficient movement of people and goods. There are two operating units within TM:  Air Traffic Management (ATM) provides airport surface safety and efficiency systems and tools, tower automation and advanced research, development and evaluation solutions; Maritime Traffic Management (MTM) solutions include Automatic Identification Systems (AIS), port and vessel traffic management information systems (VTMIS), hydrographics, and precision navigation.
We have vast experience in delivering security and surveillance solutions to the international marine market. The segment employs approximately 40 persons, ranging from sales to product development, deployment and customer support. You will be an important part of a team of dedicated persons, working with clear links to financial results in a very exciting environment.



Your role
We currently have a vacancy for a System engineer within our customer projects team. The position requires a disciplined engineer with power of initiative and good analytical skills. This is a role that demands the ability to multitask, as well as a great interest in everything from advanced software systems to Radar and VHF physics. As a representative of Saab at customer sites, the person has to be socially skilled and confident in themselves.
The role includes the following tasks, amongst others:

Perform tests of system solutions and verify deployment ready
Perform configuration and tuning of our software systems
Perform configuration and tuning of our radar and camera integrations
Perform analysis, propose solutions and solve problems in deployed systems
Act as a technical interface to our customers
Create documents for design, planning, requirements and tests (FAT and SAT)

This position is  based in our office in Linköping and demands several international travels per year.

Your skills and experience
Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent qualifications.
Several years’ experience as a system engineer.
Experience in electronics and software development.
Experience in servers and IP-networking.
Fluent written and spoken Swedish.
Fluent written and spoken English.
