Test Engineer Powertrain Control Systems

Control System Diesel Engines is our group within the section Powertrain Control System. We have the overall SW responsibility for Volvo Car Group's diesel powertrain related control modules. Using progressive technology and engineering, we are active and responsible during all stages of the product development process; ranging from the advanced engineering through concept phase, industrialisation and post production quality support. Volvos vision is to develop cars in a more simulated and theoretical environment. This is a chance to work with an interesting product, cars. Our organization is steady growing based on the fact that the SW and electronic content in our vehicles are increasing. Since we have the overall responsibility for the SW in the engine and transmission control modules we have a lot of contacts both within VCG and with suppliers. This gives a wide professional network.

As a Test Engineer Powertrain Control Systems you are responsible for testing and to provide test status for our powertrain related ECUs. You will work closely with the suppliers and all your colleagues responsible for the SW. Most testing will be performed within a lab environment such as test benchs, boxcars or using Hardware in the Loop (HIL). However, some testing will be carried out using a complete vehicle which is why a driver's license (B-level) is an absolute necessity. The everyday work is carried out in collaboration with various design departments as well as suppliers which is why good communications skills in a fast moving and international environment are a must. To be able to create new test methods and test environments for the future, it puts demands on our creativity, drive, change willingness and courage.

Main responsibilities

* Testing and reporting to the project organisation
* Development of new test methods and virtual test environments linked to requirements
* Requirement analysis
* Component testing of software, system verification and calibration of ECU functionality
* Reviewing and following up on suppliers concerning their test methods as well as test results

Required qualifications

* B.Sc. or relevant work experience
* 5-10 years of documented experience in SW verification
* Automated test case development
* Drivers license B
* Control and optimisation of embedded SW
* Autosar knowledge
* An asset would be experience from HIL, CAN, SW development and testing
* Testing and calibration of embedded SW. is meritorious
* Experience from system development, function development and calibration within automotive embedded systems is meritorious

Personal qualities

* A true curious self starter and a character of initiatives
* You have good communication and social skills and a willingness to actively participate in the team's common matters
* Great cooperative skills and a customer focus
